How
do I move PCLaw for DOS Versions 3 and 9 to another Computer?
- Determine
the location of your PCLaw files.
To
determine the location of your PCLaw files:
- Start
PCLaw.
- Press F to display the File pull-down menu.
- Press D to go to a DOS prompt.
- Write
down the path shown on the DOS prompt. (For example, C:\PCLaw)
- Type EXIT and press ENTER to return to PCLaw.
- Make
sure no one is running PCLaw.
- Copy
the PCLaw directory and its contents (determined in Step 1) from
the old computer to the new computer. Be sure to include all subdirectories.
- To
start PCLaw on the new computer:
- At
the DOS prompt, type CD\pclawpath and press ENTER (where pclawpath represents the directory found
in Step 1).
- Type INIT and press ENTER.
CAUTION: Do not remove your original PCLaw until you have verified that the
program is working correctly with current data on the new computer.
